1. Spanish Civil War
*Title: The four lithographs from All the Brave appear untitled in the book. They appear in this catalogue raisonné in alphabetical order according to their descriptive titles -- which coincides with the order they appear within All the Brave.
**Date: This is one of four lithographs made for the book All The Brave, published in 1939 (New York: Modern Age Books).. The book contains sixty-six images by Quintanilla, sixty-two of which are reproductions of drawings and four of which are lithographs. Texts are by Ernest Hemingway, Eliot Paul and Jay Allen. The sixty-two drawings were culled from a total of 140 finished drawings based on sketches the artist made while touring the battlefields of the Spanish Civil War in 1937. The four lithographs, which appear as the final four images in the book, are themselves dated 1938.
***Edition: The page preceding the lithographs states, "The following four drawings are original lithographs made by the artist exclusively for the deluxe and first trade editions." The "deluxe edition" consists of 440 numbered and signed copies. However, the number of copies printed for the first trade edition is unknown and therefore no total edition can be stated.
